What is Reiki?
Reiki (ray-kee) is a Japanese technique for deep relaxation and stress reduction. It helps promote healing and connection. Although the system of Reiki I practice was discovered and created in 1922 by Mikao Usui, the laying on of hands for healing has been used by several different cultures for thousands of years. Reiki is simple and gentle yet powerful. Reiki use in hospitals has been researched and has been shown to reduce pain, anxiety, depression, fatigue, nausea and increases a patients overall well-being.
Rei KI
The word Reiki comes from two Japanese kanjis. The first kanji is Rei which translated means universal. The second kanji is Ki which means life energy. It is also known as Chi, Prana or biofield energy.
